One of the city’s best-known hotspots is Sovereign Hill. The multi award-winning attraction is the perfect way to start your goldfields adventure, providing a detailed glimpse into 19th-century life. Try your luck gold panning or stroll down the Main Street and watch everything from horseshoes to boiled lollies being handmade. With live theatre shows, rides and demonstrations, there’s definitely enough to keep you occupied for a day or two.
