What is it? Neon spaghetti? A fluorescent octopus? Octopus spaghetti? No, it’s Fibre Lane!
Fibre Lane is a lighting installation designed by Beth Lamont. Using side-glow optical fibre (lit by specialist LED illuminators), aluminium panels and two marquees, it is an expanded, more interactive update on the “field of fibres” that was a focal point of Winterlude Festival’s Laneways project in 2015.
This optical fibre will not bring you Netflix, but it will embrace and envelope you in an ever-shifting environment of light and colour as you walk or dance through it, or hold and play with it. Get your Instagram fingers ready, and try and catch your favourite hue!
